Chapter 3

Chapter 3 made me think about how I look at the web differently, it showed me how a search engine works. It showed me there were unusual ways to search for something. Then I also did not know that some stuff from the internet gets deleted if it is too old. That is one of the jobs of a web robot which is also called a spider. When you are searching there are some of the simple ways you can do it. You can just put like youtube.com or something and it will put you on its website or give you multiple links to that website. Searches depend on how many people have visited that website or how widely known they are. There are many factors that can indicate this. When searching on the web there are things called Google search operators. These are text that you can type in such as site:, location: , or even define:, there are a couple more but that is what I will say for now. This is something I have never heard of or will use. That type the word out or something easier than using those operators. How can you tell if the web page or its information is true or owned by the person who made it? One of the ways you can check if the website is true is by either appearance, the content it is giving you, the authorship, and lastly the ownership. Those are the four main key elements you can use to evaluate. Wikipedia is something that can sometimes be right depending on if you want to believe it or not. I only say that because it is not a trusted website to get information from. It is because I have used it before for many years. The time I have not used it made me realize that it was not as accurate as it said it was. You can edit the information that is concerning. Writing in HTML you should learn how to optimize it just so it can help the search engine find it and categorize it. Try using a good title that will catch the user’s attention.
